How it works

From a first question to the right guide

Four steps. You decide how far to go, and you can stop at any point.

  1. Answer five short questions

The assessment asks about your situation: where the property is, who has died or is leaving it, and whether there is a will. Then you leave your name and email so we can reply to your enquiry.

  2. Read the guides that fit

Each guide is drafted from legislation and official sources, lists them, and shows the date it was last updated against them.

  3. See the position at a glance

Every guide opens with a Legal Snapshot: the scenarios, the law that usually applies and where tax can arise. It is general information, not advice on your case.

  4. Ask for an introduction, if you want one

If you choose, and an independent adviser who meets our criteria is available, we can pass your enquiry on. No advisers are listed yet, so we cannot promise one.

What the site does not do

  • It does not give legal advice or act on your behalf.
  • It does not guarantee that an adviser will be available for your matter.
  • It does not replace advice from a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction before you act.

The assessment takes a few minutes and costs nothing to start. It is general information, not legal advice.
