Who we are
crossborderestate.com ("CrossBorder Estate", "we") is operated by ASPECTERRA LIMITED, a private limited company registered in Cyprus. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
For anything about your data, email info@crossborderestate.com.
What personal data we collect
When you use the assessment
- Your name and email address.
- Your answers to the questions: your situation, where the property is, its approximate value band, where you live and whether there is a will that covers Spain.
- Whether you agreed to be contacted and whether you agreed to your answers being shared with an independent adviser.
When you apply to be listed as an adviser
- Your name, firm or practice, regulator or professional body, registration number and work email.
When you email us
- Your email address and whatever you choose to write.
When you browse the site
- Your cookie choice, stored in one cookie.
- If you accept analytics cookies: usage data collected by Google Analytics, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser.
- If you accept marketing cookies: page views and device details collected by the Meta Pixel.
- Technical data that our hosting provider processes to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address and browser details.
We do not ask for health information, identity documents or account numbers. Please do not include them in an email to us. The deadline calculator works in your browser: the dates you enter are not sent to us.
Why we use it and on what basis
- To reply to your enquiry, whether you send it through the assessment or by email. Basis: our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us (UK GDPR and EU GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We use your details only for that reply and any follow-up you ask for.
- To introduce you to an independent adviser, only if you ticked the optional box and then confirmed the adviser we named. Basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
- To assess an adviser application and contact the applicant about it. Basis: steps you ask us to take before any listing (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To understand how the site is used through Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. Basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
- To measure visits from Meta's apps and the effect of any adverts through the Meta Pixel, only if you accept marketing cookies. Basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
- To keep the site secure and working, including spam and abuse checks on the forms. Basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe website (Article 6(1)(f)).
Where we rely on legitimate interest, you can object at any time by emailing us. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, for example by emailing us or by changing your cookie settings. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not send marketing emails.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site, runs the form handling and sends form submissions to our inbox. Submissions are delivered by email and are not stored in a database.
- Google, through Google Workspace, hosts the mailbox that our info@ address forwards to, where form submissions and emails are kept.
- Meta Platforms Ireland Limited receives data from the Meta Pixel (page views, device and browser details, your IP address), only if you accept marketing cookies. For collecting and sending that data, Meta and we are joint controllers; Meta then uses it under its own privacy policy, including to measure and target adverts. Your form answers are never sent to Meta.
- Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC provide Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. Your form answers are never sent to Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising service.
- An independent adviser, only if you agreed to an introduction, and only when a suitable adviser is available. Before we share anything we will tell you who the adviser is and ask you to confirm. The adviser then handles your data under their own privacy policy.
- Authorities or professional advisers where the law requires it or to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal data.
Cookies and analytics
Optional cookies stay off until you accept them. You can accept, reject or choose by category in the banner, and change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. The cookies we use are listed in our Cookie policy.
International transfers
Cloudflare, Google (including Google Workspace) and, if you accept marketing cookies, Meta may process data in the United States and other countries outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum.
How long we keep it
- Assessment enquiries and emails: 12 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Adviser applications: for as long as the adviser is listed, and 12 months after a decision not to list them or after a listing ends.
- Your cookie choice: six months, after which we ask again.
- Google Analytics data at the level of a visitor or event: 14 months, the period set in our Google Analytics account. For a returning visitor the 14 months count from their latest visit. Aggregated reports that identify no one are kept longer.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for access to your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@crossborderestate.com. We reply within one month.
Contact and complaints
Please contact us first at info@crossborderestate.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Our lead authority is the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus (gov.cy/dataprotection). If you live in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), and if you live elsewhere in the EU, to the authority in your country.
Children
The site is not aimed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page with a new date, and tell you directly if a change affects data we already hold about you. Last updated: 20 October 2026.
